Iggy Azalea Squashes Rumors: Yes, She Had Rhinoplasty

woman face before and after nose surgeryIggy Azalea finally cleared up the rumors: yes, she had rhinoplasty earlier this year.

Gossip swirled around the Aussie rapper back in May when she appeared at the Billboard Music Awards with a new look. Now she tells Seventeen magazine the truth.

“I’m not denying it,” the 25-year-old “Fancy” singer told the teen mag. “Denying it is lame.”

In fact, this isn’t even Azalea’s first cosmetic procedure. She also admitted to having breast implants.

“I don’t think you should be ashamed if you made a change to yourself,” she said, “which is why I’ve spoken about the changes I’ve made, like with my breasts.”

Azalea’s not the only teen fave who’s been up front about getting cosmetic work done. Reality star Kylie Jenner, who just celebrated her 18th birthday, admitted to getting lip injections earlier this year.

But Azalea did tell Seventeen that she did her homework before making any big decisions.

“I read a lot about nose jobs online,” she said. “Some women are really happy they got them, and some women changed their noses when they were younger, and when they got older they wished they didn’t.”

Bustle.com writer Caitlyn Callegari praised Azalea for staying neutral about her surgery, especially taking her tween and teen audience into account.

“She states pretty clearly that she is not for or against plastic surgery,” Callegari wrote, “but that she’s simply unwilling to be shamed because of it or defined by it. And that is pretty wonderful.”

Azalea also cautioned girls to think about the procedure before deciding whether or not they needed it. “Your perception of yourself can change a lot over time,” the rapper said, “so I think it’s important to wait and make sure it’s the right choice.”

She also left girls with this advice: “It’s important to remember you can’t change everything… You can never be perfect.”

Seventeen’s September 2015 issue, with Azalea and her brand new look on the cover, is on newsstands now.
