Slashing your calorie intake too much can cause you to have an unhealthy relationship with food, and can even lead to dangerous nutrient deficiencies.

The juice cleanse

Another super-trendy fad diet? The juice cleanse, which involves consuming nothing but juice for a few days in order to shed fat. However, many juice cleanse drinks are nothing more than sugar water, meaning you miss out on the proteins, carbohydrates and fats that your body needs to survive. Even if you do lose weight during a juice cleanse, it’s likely you’ll end up gaining it back once you go off the cleanse.
