Moms spend all day cleaning, washing, changing, drying, folding, putting away and when it comes to themselves, it just does not seem to matter anymore. Sometimes it is more important to go to bed and get a good night’s sleep so you can do it all over again in the morning. Or you just throw a couple of acne pads on your face and call it a day. However, skin care is extremely important. If you are a young mom, you should start now. Even if you are an older mom, it’s never to late to start taking proper care of your skin.
You don’t have to use the best skin care line around or high end private label cosmetics. You probably couldn’t justify spending that much money on yourself anyway, not when the kids need things. While you don’t want the cheapest, dollar store type skin products for your face, there are some affordable brands out there, you just have to do a little research find professional skin products that work for your face and your wallet. Here are just a few reasons you should take better care of your skin.
You need to care for yourself.
If you have little ones depending on you then it’s important that you take care of yourself. You won’t be able to take care of anyone else if you are falling apart. Simple washing your face and getting all the left over make up (if you had time to put any on) and grime and dirt from the day off your face can help you relax. This will, in turn, give you a better night’s sleep, which will then, help you have an even better day with your kiddos. If you don’t think that caring for yourself is going to give you any more patience for your children, then just try it for a few nights. You’ll see.
Your skin will last longer.
Skin is the largest organ on our bodies. It protects our inner organs and everything about us. It also is the organ that gets the most exposure and abuse. Yet, it’s the one thing that we always forget about and neglect. If you want to preserve your smooth, bright skin, use professional grade skin products to keep up on it. If you talk to any older lady, she will tell you, focus on your face, neck and hands. Those seem to be the things that wrinkle the most. Women tend to wrinkle a lot more than men because they are much more expressive with their faces. Washing your face and using toners and lotions can do wonders for making your skin last longer, in better shape.
It’ll be quicker to get ready.
This one should catch your eye, Mom. Mothers are always looking for tips on how to get ready quicker in the morning. If you wash your face before you go to bed and apply your toner and creams, you’ll notice that your face is brighter, fresher and even tighter in the morning, depending on what skin products you use. This will make it easier to use less make up. You also won’t spend time having to use baby wipes to clear away smeared mascara and eyeliner under your eyes. That poor under eye area gets enough abuse, make sure you are scrubbing at it. Think of that area like tissue paper. It’s so fragile and every time you fiercely swipe at it with toilet paper or baby wipes, you’re tearing layers of skin. Use a make up remover and cleanser the night before and you may not even need any make up the next morning. Half the time, moms put on make up to blend in what they have left over from the day before.
It might give you some alone time.
If you get really into the skin care thing, you might even consider getting a babysitter once a month or so to go and get a facial. Not only will your skin receive all of those great nutrients and minerals that come from the treatment but that is one uninterrupted hour where you can just lay with your eyes closed.
